Islam the misunderstood religion/ how to respond to nagative words towards Islam and Prophet Muhammad?

It's sad to know how people are mocking Islam and how they are you humiliating our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam by drawing his pictures or making a movie on him which completely portrays a wrong image about him they forget that they are hurting someone's faith or religion. But why are people always targeting Islam?  

The answe is simple. It's because Islam has been misunderstood. Don't look at a Muslim to understand the religion but look into its book "Quran" and the most perfect being off all Mohammad peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

Allah records on multiple occasions about how prophets were insulted and mistreated and also just how the pain and hurt the prophets themselves felt. They called them a mad man, a magician for our Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa sallam they even wrote poems demeaning his character whereas they themselves were the ones who called him Al-ameen (truthful one) however, as soon as he started to call them towards Islam they started to demean his character and even tried to assassinate him and poison him.  So we need to understand that this is not the first time that our Prophets wete put under scrutiny, though they are the noblest creation of Allah.

 One should also keep this in mind that just by some random person talking gibberish against Islam or our Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) will not bring their Nobility and Honour even in an ounce.

The people who are talking against Islam and Prophet Muhammad lack knowledge and are ignorant. 

"And among mankind is he who disputes about Allah, without knowledge," (22:3)

After the 9/11 attack the most sold out book in US was Quran and the number of reverts that year were also Muslims.
The more they try to put down Islam the more people enter into Islam.
Whats effecting Islam in negative way is not the scorn towards Islam. But the Muslims who are reacting to this hatred in violance. Which is not from Islam. Islam is the religion of peace and it also says in Quran in number of places that when you hear people talking I'll about you or mocking or humiliating you then turn away from them just by saying PEACE. 

Quran (28-55) "And when they hear absurd talk, they withdraw from it and say, “Our deeds are for us and your deeds are for you. Peace be on you. We do not desire (to be entangled with) the ignorant people."

People who mock Islam are not the only ones who are ignorant but Muslims responding in self-destructive violent ways are also ignorant fools.
